EFIS to Celebrate 50th Anniversary with Strong Presence at IUIS 2025 Congress in Vienna
The European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS) is proud to mark its 50th anniversary with a dynamic and multifaceted presence at the IUIS 2025 Congress. In celebration of five decades of advancing immunological research and collaboration across Europe, EFIS is organizing a series of high-profile events and activities, reflecting both its rich legacy and its ongoing commitment to the global immunology community.
A scientific highlight will be the EFIS Guest Symposium, titled “Immunity Mediated by Innate Lymphocytes”. This session will feature leading European experts in the field and spotlight cutting-edge insights into innate lymphocyte biology, underscoring Europe's strong contributions to this rapidly evolving area.
EFIS will also host the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award Lecture and Ceremony, honoring Professor Klaus Rajewsky for his extraordinary 60-year career in immunology. Professor Rajewsky’s pioneering work has shaped modern immunology and inspired generations of scientists; the award recognizes his enduring impact on the field.
In addition, EFIS will proudly present the ACTERIA Foundation Early Career Research Awards at the Congress, highlighting exceptional achievements by young investigators in immunology and allergology.
Throughout the Congress, EFIS will welcome members and attendees at its dedicated booth in the exhibition hall, serving as a hub for networking, information, and community engagement. The booth will also be a space to connect with this year’s EFIS-EJI Travel Grant recipients. Continuing a long-standing tradition of supporting young scientists, EFIS and the European Journal of Immunology (EJI) have provided travel grants to nearly 100 early-career researchers to attend IUIS 2025. EFIS is proud to support their participation and looks forward to celebrating their achievements in person.
Join EFIS at IUIS 2025 as we commemorate 50 years of advancing immunology and fostering the next generation of researchers across Europe and beyond.
