International Day of Immunology

Awareness Campaign and Awards

In the lead-up to the 2026 Day of Immunology (DoI), which will bring global attention to the theme “Regulatory T Cells: Guardians of Immune Balance” the #DayofImmunology social media campaign will be relaunched to raise public awareness of the immune system’s importance for overall well-being. We invite and encourage all our national societies to contribute. Furthermore, IUIS and EFIS will recognize the most creative and most impactful awareness campaigns our members organize to celebrate the International Day of Immunology! The DoI Awards are your chance to showcase creative and meaningful awareness campaigns. Find out more about the campaign and how to participate here. Save the date and register for the DoI webinar on April 29 at 3 pm CET.

EFIS Task Force News

EFIS Education Task Force Report

Overall Goal: Education Task Force aims to strengthen and connect immunology education across Europe by developing shared teaching resources, promoting innovative educational approaches, fostering exchange among educators at all career stages, and supporting early-career scientists.

What We Have Done? Since its launch, the task force has achieved several milestones. We created a webpage as a central hub, collected initial teaching resources, and organized our first symposium at the IUIS Congress in Vienna, which had strong attendance. We also launched our first webinar on key immunology discoveries, featuring Antonio Lanzavecchia, who summarized the discovery of B/T cell cooperation. You can sign up for upcoming webinars on the website .

Future Activities: We will develop tools, links and resources for educators and scientists on the EFIS Education webpage. The Task force will also host a guest EFIS symposium at the Annual Meeting of the German Society for Immunology in Munich in September 2026.

Join us! We invite educators and immunologists to join the EFIS Education Task Force. Members benefit from updates via our newsletter, access to immunology lecture slides, materials on the history of immunology, and a blog discussing teaching, history, and AI in immunology education.

yEFIS Task Force 3rd Symposium

We are delighted to announce that registration is now open for the yEFIS 3rd Symposium, taking place in Prague, Czech Republic, from 29 June to 1 July 2026.

Organised by and for early-career immunologists, the yEFIS Symposium brings together PhD students, postdocs, and early-stage group leaders from across Europe for three days of cutting-edge science, skills workshops, and networking. Building on successful meetings in Berlin and Dublin, the 2026 symposium will welcome over 250 participants in collaboration with the Czech Immunological Society and Czech Young Immunologists.

We look forward to welcoming you to Prague for an exciting and collaborative yEFIS Symposium.
