IUIS 2025 Congress: Just a week to go!
Join EFIS at IUIS 2025 in Vienna
EFIS is proud to play an active role marking its 50th anniversary at IUIS 2025, taking place in Vienna, Austria from August 17 to 22, 2025. Join us as we celebrate five decades of supporting immunological research and collaboration across Europe and beyond.
As part of the scientific program, EFIS will host a guest symposium titled "Immunity Mediated by Innate Lymphocytes" on Wednesday, August 20 at 13:45 in Hall N. This session will feature leading experts presenting the latest discoveries in the field of innate lymphoid cells
A major highlight of EFIS’s presence at IUIS 2025 will be the Lifetime Achievement Award ceremony, honoring Professor Klaus Rajewsky, a pioneer in immunology. The event will take place on Tuesday, August 19 at 12:30 in Hall L1, and will include a short lecture by Professor Rajewsky following the award presentation.
We will also recognize emerging talent at the ACTERIA Foundation Early Career Research Awards session on Wednesday, August 20 at 12:30 in Hall N, celebrating promising contributions from young investigators.
Be sure to visit the EFIS booth in the exhibition hall—a hub for networking, information, and community connection. The booth will also serve as a meeting point for this year’s EFIS-EJI Travel Grant recipients. In partnership with the ACTERIA Foundation and European Journal of Immunology (EJI), EFIS is proud to have awarded travel grants to nearly 100 early-career researchers to support their participation in IUIS 2025.
As we celebrate 50 years of EFIS, we look forward to honoring our legacy, showcasing our impact, and looking ahead to the future of immunology—together with you.

Mark your calendars for upcoming yEFIS events
IUIS 2025: Events for early and mid-career researchers
Join our events ((https://iuis2025.org/erc-events/) organised by the IUIS Junior Community, yEFIS and the Next Generation Immunologists (NGI)! Activities ranging from a scavenger hunt through our host city (registration link), an info session by the European Research Council, a career fair as well as a scientific symposium and of course lots of opportunities to connect and network with your peers!
EFIS Diversity and the young EFIS Task Forces, in partnership with the University of Exeter's Department of Psychology, are conducting a study to understand perspectives and experiences in immunology and related fields. Your insights are crucial to shaping our work as the task forces supporting career development, decision-making, and policy in this field.
We invite responses from a broad range of individuals connected to immunology — be they in academia, non-academic organizations, or across various career stages. Even if some questions don't apply to you, your input is valuable.
The survey takes about 15-20 minutes and must be completed in one session for data protection. It has received ethical clearance from the University of Exeter Psychology Research Ethics Committee. More information on data safety is provided at the start. You can complete the survey on a computer, tablet, or phone.
Thank you for contributing to this important project!
